Smile, Breathe & Go Slowly
My Story
My struggles began in 2009 where I experienced one traumatic event after another - witnessing radical changes within my family, my relationships, my home and then ultimately my body.
The physiological result was night eating syndrome, an eating disorder-not-otherwise-specified, or how I like to call it, sleep-walk eating, and an auto-immune disease, specifically psoriasis. Prior to these diagnoses I already had quite the unhealthy relationship with food and my body. My youth encompassed lots of experimentation with diets, overexercising and a personality strongly influenced by perfectionism – a beautiful brewing ground for an eating disorder. Furthermore, growing up I witnessed quite a lot of unexplained physiological pain, signs and symptoms. From stomach pains and nausea to mouth or hair follicle infections to broken bones and pulled muscles. Thankfully never to a point of severe hospitalizations, yet instead depicting signs of a hypersensitive nervous system.
One could also say that 2009 was when I spiritually woke up.
When I started truly seeing and learning about the truth of our inner and outer realities, stripping away layers of the conditioning of our society. For this reason, I became obsessed with personal development, mindfulness and embodiment techniques. Utilizing my personal and professional spaces for going deeper into my relationship with self, my body, food, health and relationships in general. My personal time encompassed biohacking and my professional time encompassed studying, learning, and implementing my teachings with others. The more I discovered the disconnect between mind and body within myself, the more I saw it in our lifestyles and most importantly our health systems.
Despite the rollercoaster years, I found my body’s wisdom
through the support of tools, healers and frameworks which healed and rebalanced my body and mind, shifting my state to a place of empowerment, connection and transformation. In other words, the true healing and transformation came when I decided to become my own healer.
